Hi I'm Genny Smith and I live in Fort Pierce, FL. If you're wondering where I got the name for my business it's a combination of my first six grandchildren's initials! Daphne got left out since she was born after the company was named. Perhaps I'll have to name a particularly beautiful piece of jewelry after her! My passion for all types of jewelry construction happened quite by accident. My son, Bill, was out on deployment to the middle-east and I was in beautiful California helping my daughter-in-law with the care of Emma and Will, two of my very active and lovable grandchildren. I needed a night out and the local quilt shop (my hobby at that time) did not have any interesting classes. In quaint La Mesa village there is a bead shop, The Bouncing Bead , that caught my attention. My curiosity kicked in and I signed up for a class. The rest is history! Since that time I have attended classes in Florida, New York and Georgia. I've attended the William Holland School for Lapidary Arts . There under the guidance of Diane Mason I learned wire wrapping techniques. Recently I've branched out into silver smithing under the guidance of Dan Haga a master silversmith. My most recent class at Wm Holland is advanced chain making taught by a master, Howard Siegel. I recently returned to California and The Bouncing Bead and learned even more from my first teacher, Linda Wilder, who has a wealth of knowledge. I love teaching! I meet so many great people. Here in Fort Pierce, FL I teach in a fabulous bead shop owned by Susan Barette. Beads and Baubles carries not only "knock your eye out" beads but has an array of pre-made jewelry and great gifts! You can contact Susan at beadsandbaubles@bellsouth.net or call her store at (772)468-0207. For a list of my classes, times and dates click here! This site has new free tutorials periodically so keep checking back! |

| If you have a group of friends interested in learning and having fun you can host a jewelry making party in your home or mine! It makes getting together so interesting! I teach basic beading, chainmaille, seed bead weaving, silver smithing and other much sought after techniques! |
